The event brought together representatives from the fashion, design, education, and sustainable development sectors, alongside prominent speakers from the fashion industries of Viet Nam and Denmark. The discussion centred on how creativity, cultural heritage, and social responsibility can shape a more ethical and climate-conscious fashion industry.

Mette Ekeroth, Deputy Ambassador of Denmark to Viet Nam, underscored the importance of cultural dialogue in advancing sustainable development. She remarked that although Viet Nam and Denmark are geographically distant, they share strong mutual interests in sustainability and innovation.

She highlighted the interconnectedness of both nations’ fashion industries through global value chains and consumer trends. Fashion, she noted, is not only a vehicle for expressing personal and cultural identity but also a sector increasingly driven by sustainable practices in both production and consumption.

“We hope this dialogue will inspire future collaborative relationships and contribute to the positive changes both Viet Nam and Denmark are striving for in the fashion sector,” she stated.

Attendees engaged in vibrant discussions on how Viet Nam’s fashion industry can expand into global markets through sustainable development, the significance of preserving cultural identity in design, and the potential for mutual learning between Viet Nam and Denmark in tackling shared environmental challenges.

This event forms part of a broader initiative by the Danish Embassy to promote sustainable development through cultural exchange and to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Viet Nam under the Green Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
