The event, which is jointly held by India’s World University of Design, Vietnam’s Van Lang University, and the Kekkeyellam Foundation, is the first exchange event of fine art and paintings to be organised by universities from the two countries.

The exhibition showcased 30 acrylic paintings by 29 Vietnamese and Indian painters.

The paintings reflect the artists’ multi-dimensional perspectives on social issues, while featuring the cultural overlap between Vietnam and India.

According to painter Phan Quan Dung-Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design under Van Lang University, the works on display reflect the similarities in the art and culture of the two countries as well as people’s aspirations for a good life.

At the event, the artists also exchanged views on issues such as environmental protection and sustainable development and also joined activities to share their working experiences.

Van Lang University signed two Memorandum of Understanding with India’s World University of Design and the Kekkeyellam Foundation on the occasion.

The exhibition will run until November 13 at Van Lang University, 45 Nguyen Khac Nhu Street, Co Giang Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
