The event was attended by Yeap Samnang, Under-Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with ambassadors and representatives of ASEAN diplomatic missions in Cambodia.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Yeap Samnang said that young people are not only beneficiaries of ASEAN solidarity and cooperation but also actors in building a stronger ASEAN Community.
Yeap Samnang expressed his belief that, through education, friendship, cultural exchanges, and cross-border connectivity, young people will contribute to building greater understanding and trust among ASEAN countries.
The Cambodian official thanked the ASEAN embassies for participating in the meaningful event, stressing that it demonstrated their commitment to a peaceful, united, and resilient ASEAN Community.
For his part, Hun Chaya, Director of the CAM-ASEAN International Institute, said that the ASEAN Day event aimed to encourage students to appreciate the value of cultural diversity, thereby helping strengthen friendship and deepen cooperation among countries in the region.
At the event, the Vietnamese Embassy organised a promotional booth showcasing traditional handicrafts, images of Vietnamese tourism destinations, and a number of prominent Vietnamese consumer products.
The booth attracted a large number of visitors, particularly young people, helping to promote the image of Viet Nam and its people while strengthening people-to-people exchanges within the ASEAN Community.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Minh Vu personally introduced the Vietnamese Embassy’s exhibition booth to leaders of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and to representatives of ASEAN diplomatic missions.
Vietnamese companies operating in Cambodia also participated in the event, helping to promote their brands and products while demonstrating their commitment to contributing to the community.
