The handover took place at the Syrian Embassy in Russia on February 18.

The donations included sleeping bags, warm clothes, winter hats, socks, food, and other daily essential goods.

Earlier, on February 12, the community also donated ready-to-eat foods and essential goods worth around 7,000 USD to Syria.

At the reception for representatives of the Vietnamese community, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Bashar al-Jaafari thanked them for their help and affirmed that the relief goods reflect the Vietnamese people’s hearts of sharing towards the Syrian people during this difficult time.

The diplomat also updated the guests on the earthquake relief effort in Syria and expressed his hope that the relationship between the people of the two countries will continue to be strengthened in the future.

For his part, Minister Counsellor Le Quang Anh at the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia expressed his sympathy for the Syrian people and emphasised that Vietnam and Syria always help each other during difficult times.
