On January 8, the Da Nang Red Cross Society announced the launch of the “Tet Nhan Ai” (Compassionate Tet) campaign, which will run until January 26.
Key activities include organising two city-level Tet markets for 1,200 poor and disadvantaged households to shop for Tet essentials. Additionally, three more markets will be held at the district level.
These markets will offer a wide range of essential goods at affordable prices. Each participant will receive shopping vouchers worth at least 500,000 VND. The markets will also feature free health check-ups and consultation booths for attendees.
The campaign also includes various charitable activities, such as cooking 1,000 chung cakes (traditional square sticky rice cakes) to distribute to patients in hospitals, lottery ticket sellers, and other disadvantaged individuals. Other programmes include providing financial support for children with cancer, transportation for workers to return home for Tet, and home repair for the elderly and individuals living alone.
