Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung affirmed that throughout the nation's history, farmers have been the largest force, making immense contributions—in terms of both human and material resources—to the struggle for national independence and reunification, as well as to the cause of national construction and defense. Notably, over the 40 years of Renewal, Vietnamese farmers have continued to uphold their pioneering spirit, increasingly asserting their vital role and making significant contributions to the country's industrialisation and modernisation.
With a focus on the goal of restructuring the rural economy set by the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung called upon Party committees, authorities, the Viet Nam Farmers' Union, and farmers nationwide to join hands in deepening their understanding and taking timely action to implement the contents of the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 219-KL/TW regarding agriculture, farmers, and rural areas until 2030, with a vision toward 2045.
He called on authorities and the Viet Nam Farmers’ Union to strengthen support for farmers, promote agricultural development and rural modernisation, and address long-standing challenges, including fragmented production, weak links across agricultural value chains and slow application of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
