Vietnamese movie "Inside the Golden Cocoon" screened in France

The movie “Ben trong vo ken vang” (Inside the Golden Cocoon) by director Pham Thien An was officially introduced to the French public on September 20. Previously, the film won the “Golden Lens” Award at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

The film tells the story of Thien, played by actor Le Phong Vu, who brings the remains of his sister-in-law back to his hometown after a fatal motorbike accident.

As a young man who left his hometown to go to the city to make a living and chase drinking parties on street corners with his friends, Thien must raise his little nephew named Dao, the son of his sister-in-law.

During the journey back to his hometown to bury his sister-in-law, Thien faces inner conflicts mixed with dissatisfaction in life. Thien's past stories appear through flashbacks with unmoored emotions forcing him to embark on a journey to find the faith that he had long neglected.

According to domestic and international experts, the movie brought viewers to special cinematic experiences that are extremely attractive with interesting visual effects.

The premiere was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang.
