Entitled ‘70th anniversary of Capital’s Liberation: Proud Memories’, the contest aims to popularise the glorious history and tradition of Thang Long - Hanoi, increase love and responsibility in each Hanoian, and encourage their contributions to the capital’s development.

In the five months since its launch in March, the contest has received 180 submissions by writers, journalists, and researchers as well as non-professional authors from across the country. The organising board selected prominent of them to publish in the Ha Noi Moi online newspaper and the Ha Noi Moi Weekend publication.

The entries recalled glorious days before, during and after the day when Hanoi was liberated on October 10, 1954.

The writings also highlighted the rich culture and history of Hanoi, and the elegance of Hanoians, as well as the pressing issues facing the capital city in life today.

At the ceremony, the organising board presented one first, two second, three third, and several sub-prizes to the most outstanding entries.
