Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung said that the project aims to pay tribute to those who have made significant contributions to the country.
He expressed his gratitude to the Overseas Vietnamese in Laos, the Association of Vietnam Investors in Laos and the Vietnam-Laos Business Association of Cooperation and Investment (BACI) for providing financial support for the project.
He also voiced his appreciation for the local authorities for promptly granting the license for the construction of the houses.
Located in the Chanthabuly district, the two houses have a total area of 40 square metres each and will be built at a total investment of US$ 20,000. The project is scheduled to be completed within two months.
One is to be built as a gift for the family of 89-year-old Nguyen Thi Lien, the widow of martyr Hoang Van Tri, who laid down his life in Ban Kuen, Vientiane, Laos, during the war against the French. The second will be presented to a poor beneficiary family in Vientiane.
