Revenue from travel services increases by over 39 percent in February

NDO – According to the General Statistics Office, the total retail sales of consumer goods and services in February 2022, was estimated at 421.8 trillion VND, down 7.1 percent over the previous month and up 3.1 percent over the same period last year.

In February, revenue from accommodation and catering services rose by 12.6 percent, while travel services increased by 39.4 percent.

In the first two months of 2022, the total retail sales of consumer goods and services was estimated at more than 876 trillion VND, up 1.7 percent over the same period last year (if excluding price factor, down 0.3 percent)

Compared to the same period last year, retail sales of goods in the first two months of 2022 increased by 3.1 percent; in which the group of cultural and educational products increased by 12.7 percent; food increased by 9.0 percent; means of transport increased by 4.3 percent; apparel was down 8.1 percent; household appliances, tools and equipment decreased by 9.1 percent.

Specifically, the retail sales of goods in the first two months of the year, compared to the same period last year, in some localities such as Binh Duong, increased by 15.2 percent; Quang Ninh increased by 13.1 percent; Hanoi increased by 9.3 percent; Dong Nai increased by 9.1 percent; Hai Phong increased by 8.9 percent; Khanh Hoa increased by 3.6 percent; Ho Chi Minh City increased by 3.4 percent; Can Tho increased by 3.0 percent; Da Nang decreased by 21.9 percent.

The revenue from accommodation and food services in the first two months of this year compared to the same period last year, in some localities was as follows: Bac Ninh increased by 39.6 percent; Khanh Hoa increased by 22.1 percent; Binh Dinh increased by 20.1 percent; Phu Yen increased by 17.5 percent; Hanoi increased by 12.7 percent; Quang Ninh increased by 7.5 percent; Ho Chi Minh City fell 29.1 percent.

The revenue from travel services in the first two months of this year compared to the same period last year is listed by locality: Khanh Hoa increased by 466.2 percent; Lang Son increased by 16.3 percent; Can Tho increased by 4.8 percent; Hanoi increased by 3.5 percent; Da Nang decreased by 2.8 percent; Ho Chi Minh City fell 19.6 percent.
