The event was co-organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, Vietnamese representative agencies, and the Vietnamese community living in Laos.

In his speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam reviewed President Ho Chi Minh’s glorious revolutionary life, honouring him as a national liberation hero, an eminent cultural figure, and a symbol of patriotism and international solidarity.

Quoting President Ho Chi Minh, the ambassador highlighted his vision of the Viet Nam–Laos relationship as both a sacred international duty and a vital strategic interest of both nations.

Ambassador Tam emphasised that the special Viet Nam–Laos friendship, founded by Presidents Ho Chi Minh, Kaysone Phomvihane, and Souphanouvong, is a testament to President Ho’s commitment to building enduring international solidarity.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy Governor of Khammouane Province recalled President Ho Chi Minh’s deep regard for Viet Nam–Laos relations, which have grown into a rare and special bond under his guidance and that of other revolutionary leaders.

Delegates paid tribute by offering incense and flowers to President Ho Chi Minh, followed by a visit to the traditional exhibition hall showcasing valuable photos and documents of his revolutionary career. The memorial serves not only as an important educational site but also a spiritual symbol of gratitude and remembrance, especially for the Vietnamese community in Khammouane and neighbouring provinces.

The ceremony also featured a joint incense offering at the Laos–Viet Nam Combat Alliance Monument in Khammouane—a powerful symbol of the two nations’ enduring unity and shared sacrifices in their struggles for independence.
