Under the theme “The Energy of Harmony”, the marathon is a sporting and cultural event offering participants a unique experience that blends health, nature, and the vibrant Khmer heritage of the Mekong Delta province.
The race officially began early morning on April 13, with 4,300 domestic and international runners competing across 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km distances.

This is the largest-ever public sporting event hosted in Tra Vinh. It aims to promote physical fitness, foster cultural exchange across regions and countries, and provide a wholesome recreational platform.
Taking place alongside the traditional Khmer Chol Chnam Thmay New Year celebrations, the marathon gives runners and supporters the chance to experience local culture and cuisine.
Tra Vinh, known as “The City of Green Trees”, was rated by global air quality monitor IQAir as the city with the cleanest air in Vietnam and third-cleanest in Southeast Asia.

According to the organisers, the Aikya Cross Country Marathon 2025 also serves as an opportunity to promote the image of Tra Vinh – a land known for its warm-hearted and friendly people. The event conveys a message of healthy living in harmony with nature and the community.
