Under the approved plan, Tuy Hoa Airport (Dak Lak Province) is designated as a domestic airport within the national civil aviation airport system.
During the period up to 2030, Tuy Hoa Airport is planned to meet ICAO 4C standards under the classification of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), with a capacity of approximately 3 million passengers per year.
In terms of airfield infrastructure, the plan retains the existing runway while expanding the aircraft apron to around 11 parking positions, meeting operational requirements in the immediate phase.
Tuy Hoa Airport is oriented towards expanding its scale, increasing operational capacity to approximately 5 million passengers per year by 2050. A notable highlight is the planned construction of a second runway with dimensions of 2,660m x 45m, located about 305m southeast of the centreline of the existing runway, together with a system of rapid exit taxiways. This will help enhance operational capacity and efficiency while ensuring flight safety.
The master plan also places special emphasis on the synchronised development of technical infrastructure and aviation services. Accordingly, a new T2 passenger terminal will be constructed to the southwest of the existing T1 terminal, meeting the growing travel needs of residents and visitors alike.
