Trains will start the test run from Suoi Tien Station to Ben Thanh Station and vice versa. This is the first time that the entire route will be tested.

The number of passengers will be limited to a maximum of 20 people per train and the test run will be conducted according to the contractor’s procedures. The contractor will make a safety assessment and limit the number of employees as well as proposing emergency solutions in the tunnel.

The Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City anticipates that the fare for the metro route will be from 12,000 to 18,000 VND per leg.

The trial run was conducted on a 9-km elevated section from Suoi Tien Station to Binh Thai Station in 2022.

The metro line No.1 has a total of 17 trains, which were all manufactured in Japan and shipped to Vietnam. The design speed of the trains is 110km per hour for elevated sections and 80km per hour for underground sections.

The Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien route has a total length of nearly 20km, including three underground stations and 11 elevated stations, with a total investment of around 43.7 trillion VND. Currently, about 96% of the project has been completed.
