Specifically, in terms of agriculture, as of April 20, 2025, the whole country has planted over 2.9 million hectares of winter-spring rice, an increase of 15,700 hectares compared to the 2024 winter-spring crop.
Northern localities have planted 1.05 million hectares, a decrease of 7,900 hectares, mainly due to land acquisition for construction of projects, industrial parks, and conversion of crop purposes from rice to other crops with higher economic efficiency.

Poultry farming has developed well, some broiler farms have connected with consumer businesses, forming a closed chain from farm to table, contributing to promoting the development of livestock farming activities.
Pig farming has developed thanks to effective control of African swine fever, while the strong increase in consumption demand during the holidays has motivated farmers to restore their herds, invest in renovating barns, and apply biosecurity measures to improve productivity and product quality.
The area of newly planted forests nationwide in April 2025 is estimated at 32,200 hectares, an increase of 1.1% over the same period in 2024. In the first four months of 2025, the area of newly planted forests is estimated at 77.800 hectares, an increase of 11.3% over the same period in 2024.
The output of aquatic products in April 2025 is estimated at 794,400 tonnes, an increase of 2.8% over the same period in 2024. The output of aquaculture in the month is estimated at 437,800 tonnes, an increase of 4.7% over the same period in 2024.
According to the General Statistics Office, sea exploitation has started in the southern fishing season, along with a sharp decrease in oil prices compared to the same period in 2024, so fishermen are actively going to sea exploitation.
The output of marine aquatic products is estimated at 341,900 tonnes, up 0.7% over the same period in 2024. In the first four months of 2025, the output of aquatic products was estimated at over 2.78 million tonnes, up 2.8% over the same period in 2024.
