Accordingly, the Da Nang representative office has been established in Hoa Xuan Ward. Its establishment reflects a determination to bring advanced solutions in product traceability and authentication closer to businesses and residents in the central and Central Highlands regions.

On this occasion, Pham Quoc Viet (born in 1979) was appointed as deputy director of the institute, concurrently serving as head of its Da Nang representative office.

According to the Viet Nam Association for Anti-Counterfeiting and Trademark Protection, counterfeiting and trade fraud have become increasingly complex in recent years, particularly in cyberspace. In 2025, numerous cases were recorded involving food safety, pharmaceuticals, and functional foods.

In 2025 alone, members of the National Steering Committee against Smuggling, Counterfeit Goods and Trade Fraud (National Steering Committee 389) detected and handled more than 123,000 violations. Of these, market surveillance forces uncovered over 23,000 cases involving counterfeit and substandard goods as well as trade fraud, with more than 3,100 cases referred for criminal investigation.

Counterfeit goods and trade fraud have caused significant losses for both consumers and legitimate businesses.

In line with its mandate, the association and its affiliated units have stepped up communication efforts and organised various activities, including seminars, the launch of the “Anti-counterfeiting and online fraud prevention” competition, and coordination with media outlets to produce in-depth reports on combating counterfeits. At the same time, amid rapid technological advancement, the association has been developing solutions to support businesses in tackling product counterfeiting.
