Egyptian localities promote cooperation with Vietnam in strong fields

NDO – Egyptian localities wish to promote cooperation with Vietnam in fields such as port services, logistics, gas, fisheries, agriculture, and tourism.

The information was released on June 9 at meetings between Vietnamese Ambassador Tran Thanh Cong and Egypt’s coastal governorates of Damietta and Port Said.

At the meetings, the Vietnamese Ambassador emphasised that Vietnam and Egypt have maintained a good relationship both in wartime in the past and during national construction at present.

The bilateral ties have seen important progress over tprevious years, particularly after the official visits made by the two countries’ leaders in 2017 and 2018, he added.

The Vietnamese diplomat also briefed the other side about Vietnam’s economic development and advantages alongside its incentives for investment attraction.

Vietnam and Egypt have inked various documents and agreements to bolster bilateral relations in economics, trade and investment, he said, proposing the two sides hold more seminars and trade promotion events to connect enterprises from both countries and help them explore their mutual strengths.

For his part, Port Said Governor e-Ghadban said he hoped the two sides will promote cooperation in services, logistics, gas, fisheries, textile-garment, agriculture, road construction, tourism and culture.

Meanwhile, Damietta Governor Manal Awad Mikhail suggested the two sides enhance cooperation in port services, logistics, canned seafood, agriculture, timber production, medical equipment, textile-garment and cultural exchanges.

Both Governors welcomed Vietnamese firms to invest in export processing zones in the two localities.
