For the first time, a ceramic art camp on the theme of President Ho Chi Minh has been held in Hue, a city closely associated with his youth.

Twenty-one artists and sculptors worked continuously for over two months at the Ngoc An Ceramic Space (No. 108 Le Ngo Cat Street, Hue City), creating more than 40 works that express deep affection and reverence for President Ho Chi Minh through the expressive language of ceramics.

The exhibition "Hue with President Ho Chi Minh" will be on display at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City until the end of August this year.

The works range from round statues and reliefs to art installations, exploring various perspectives on the life, ideology and personality of the late leader.

The statue collection "Portrait of Uncle Ho" by artist Hoang Thanh Phong and the artwork "Illumination" by artist couple Vo Quang Hoanh and Nguyen Thi Bach Mai were highly praised for both their form and intellectual depth.

The cultural landscape of Hue – featuring the Quoc Hoc School, Duong No Memorial House, Ngu Mountain, and the Huong River — appears in many of the works as a layer of memory that runs parallel with the image of the leader. With its rustic and enduring qualities, ceramics has become an ideal medium for artists to convey their respect for timeless values.

Mrs. Le Thuy Chi, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City, shared: “The art camp has richly and profoundly portrayed the image of President Ho Chi Minh through the lens of contemporary art. Many works possess intellectual depth, evoking subtle yet lingering emotions, and conveying a positive message about his ideology, ethics and way of life.”

Artist Nguyen Thien Duc, Chairman of the Hue Fine Arts Association, said that the art camp not only produced artworks, but also sparked a lasting creative inspiration about President Ho Chi Minh within the hearts of the artists. This is how art contributes to enriching historical memory and nurturing humanistic values in contemporary life.

After the conclusion of the camp, a number of artworks will be collected by the Ho Chi Minh Museum to serve in future exhibition and traditional education efforts.
