Conference seeks to promote Vietnam's cashew exports

This is an activity under the National Programme on Trade Promotion in 2023, organised by the Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas) and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The conference features the participation of a large number of experts, cashew production and business enterprises in Vietnam, with more than 350 delegates from 40 countries and territories.

At the event, experts and enterprises of the cashew industry in Vietnam, together with the community of processors, exporters, importers, and traders of raw materials and international cashew kernels, exchange and discuss information, analyze, evaluate and comment, as well as propose solutions and initiatives, to help the cashew industry in both Vietnam and the world, develop stably and sustainably in the coming time.

According to information from Vinacas and experts, Vietnam's cashew exports in 2022 reached 519,782 tonnes, worth 3.08 billion USD, down 10.3% in volume, down 15.1% in value, compared to 2021.

Vinacas proposed to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), to have industrial promotion programmes, to support businesses to invest while improving technology and equipment, digital transformation, and upgrading processing facilities following international standards.

At the same time, Vinacas also proposed that the MoIT support and encourage businesses to find customers, invest in deep processing of cashew-related products and diversify export products.

Vinacas aims to export cashew nuts in 2023, and reach about $ 3.1 billion, up 0.6% compared to 2022.

The 12th Vietnam International Cashew Conference in 2023 will take place until February 28.
