Thanh’s work, in watercolor, featured a journey to the Republic of Korea (RoK) through a hole in a garden.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Truc Ly received second prize in the postcard category. Her work features the RoK’s four seasons through traditional Korean hanboks.

In the calligraphy category, Pham Minh Thang from Vietnam was awarded third prize.

Winners in each of the categories will be invited to visit Korea for five days in October.

The ‘Talk! Talk! Korea’ contest was organised by the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Culture and Information Service, part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Launched in 2012, the contest aims to encourage people around the world to create works in five categories - video, video Arirang, webtoons, calligraphy, and photography - based on their knowledge of the RoK’s culture and history or their memories of the RoK.

With the theme of this year's contest, ‘Show Them What you Know About Korea’ this year’s contest attracted a total of 15,911 works from 143 countries, doubling the submissions collected in the previous event.

The winning works of art can be seen on the 'Talk! Talk! Korea 2015' event page and on the KBS World page.
