The activities are expected to convey the messages: “Good books need readers”, “Precious books for friends”, “Giving good books – Buying real books”, and “Good books: reading by eyes – Listening by ears”.
The intellectual space in the Paris Commune Square and Ho Chi Minh City Book Street (Nguyen Van Binh Street) in District 1 is divided into four subdivisions, including an exhibition displaying 41 works winning the 2023 National Book Award and an exhibition of documents and publications commemorating the 49th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2024) and the 138th anniversary of International Labour Day (May 1, 1886 - 2024).

A space has also been arranged for displaying documents and publications on the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954-2024) and the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Agreement on ending the war in Vietnam (July 21, 1954 – 2024).
This year’s event features more than 300 activities held in Thu Duc City and 21 districts around Ho Chi Minh City.
One of the highlights of the third Book and Reading Culture Day in Ho Chi Minh City will be the announcement of Reading Culture Ambassador during the 2024-2025 tenure and the launch of the Ho Chi Minh City Reading Culture Ambassadors’ Club during the opening ceremony on April 19.
In addition, one of the new features of the third Book and Reading Culture Day in Ho Chi Minh City is the organisation of activities related to digital transformation and technology application.
