The two-day event, co-organised by the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists (VASA) and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, features around 40 performances of different styles of magic.

Addressing the opening ceremony, VASA Chairman, Le Tien Tho, said that the festival provided a platform for the participating artists to exchange experience and improve their performance quality in order to meet the increasing demand of audiences.

It is also an opportunity for management units and art troupes to review the current situation and capacity of circus artists, thus working out solutions for human resource training and boosting the development of circus art.

According the organising board, this year’s event attracted a larger number of entries in comparison to the two previous editions, which proves the fact that, although circus artists and magicians still face difficulties, they have nurtured a love and passion for their profession and exerted efforts to renovate their performances in order to attract crowds.

The best performances of the festival will be awarded at the closing ceremony at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, 7 Lam Son Square, District 1, on October 15.
