Speaking at the workshop, Director of the Import-Export Department Phan Van Chinh said the National Digital Transformation Programme to 2025, with orientation to 2030, has been approved by the Prime Minister, with logistics noted among the 8 industries that should be prioritised for digital transformation.

Among the tasks to improve competitiveness and develop logistics services in Vietnam by 2025 according to the Prime Minister's Decision No.221/QD-TTg, dated February 22, 2021, are technological research, application and transfer, and promoting digital transformation in logistics services.

As one of the key industries, likened to the "lifeblood" of the national economy, logistics needs to be invested strongly, especially in the aspect of "digitisation" to be able to respond and adapt to the market context, as well as help promote the development of other industries.

Recently, under the pressure of the COVID-19 epidemic and the explosion of the digital economy and e-commerce, logistics businesses have been partly aware of the acceleration of digital transformation and the application of new technologies into business activities to enhance economic efficiency, as well as optimise in production and supply chains.

At the workshop, representatives of state management agencies, associations, industry associations and businesses, together with experts and research institutes, spent a lot of time exchanging, reviewing, evaluating, and commenting on the current situation of digital transformation in the logistics industry in Vietnam.
