The event was attended by Vu Hong Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Delegation of Provincial National Assembly Deputies.

At the event, Le Truong Son, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, delivered a speech reviewing the 80-year history of building, fighting, and developing the People’s Public Security Force, and the 20 years of the All People's Security Safeguard Festival.

Eighty years ago, on August 23, 1945, at house No. 2, Sau Su Street, the National Self-Defence Force of Bien Hoa Province – the predecessor of today’s Dong Nai Public Security Force – was established. On August 26, 1945, the National Self-Defence Forces of Thu Dau Mot and Hon Quan were also established.

Since then, in the revolutionary heartlands of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc, the public security forces took shape, continuously developing and growing, closely associated with the historical milestones of the provincial revolution.

Over the past 80 years of building and fighting for the survival of the nation, and for the peace and development of the homeland, generations of officers and soldiers of the Dong Nai Provincial Public Security Force have upheld the spirit of revolutionary heroism. Hundreds of officers and soldiers have laid down their lives, and many have sacrificed parts of their bodies for the cause of safeguarding national security and for the happiness of the people.

In recognition of the contributions of generations of officers and soldiers, the Party and State have conferred many noble awards, including two Ho Chi Minh Orders. Ten collectives and six individuals have been conferred or posthumously awarded the title Hero of the People’s Armed Forces.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vu Hong Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Delegation of Dong Nai National Assembly Deputies, affirmed that the achievements and victories of the provincial Public Security Force have contributed to maintaining political security, stability, ensuring social order and safety, and building an orderly, disciplined, secure, safe, and healthy society.

Looking back at the proud and glorious history of the People’s Public Security Force over 80 years of building, fighting, and maturing, we pay respectful tribute, honour, and express deep gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of generations of officers and soldiers in the struggle for national liberation, and in building and defending the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

At the same time, it is necessary to continue deeply absorbing valuable historical lessons: the absolute, comprehensive, and direct leadership of the Party over the People’s Public Security Force is the decisive factor in every victory in safeguarding security and order; promoting the active role of the people and the combined strength of the entire political system, especially the close coordination between the People’s Public Security Force and the People’s Army in the struggle to protect security and order.

He urged continued adherence to the consistent viewpoint and successful implementation of the directive of General Secretary To Lam that “Unity is the truth of all eras”, that internal unity is always considered a matter of survival and the top priority in Party building. This must go hand in hand with strengthening and promoting the power of great national unity, which is considered the “source of life” and the “red thread” running throughout.

On this occasion, several collectives and individuals were praised by the Provincial People’s Committee for their outstanding achievements.
