On the afternoon of December 6 in Phnom Penh, the Khmer–Viet Nam Business Association held a working session with the delegation from the An Giang Provincial Centre for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion and An Giang businesses.

According to Tran Van Thang, Vice Chairman of the Khmer–Viet Nam Business Association, the meeting offered an opportunity for An Giang businesses and Vietnamese-origin businesses in Cambodia to meet and connect directly, exchange useful market information, and share practical investment and business experiences.

Tran Van Thang noted that, as one of the five member associations under the Khmer–Viet Nam Association (KVA) in Cambodia, the Khmer–Viet Nam Business Association brings together Vietnamese-origin businesses in Cambodia with the aim of building a cohesive organisation that provides mutual support in business activities, assists disadvantaged Vietnamese-origin communities in Cambodia, and contributes to strengthening the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

At the meeting, representatives of businesses from various sectors within the Vietnamese-origin business community in Cambodia shared many valuable insights into investing and conducting business in the country, and affirmed their willingness to offer support within their capacity to Vietnamese businesses seeking to expand their markets, export goods or invest in Cambodia.

Representatives of An Giang businesses agreed that the Cambodian market still holds significant potential for development and presents many opportunities for the province’s key products to be exported, such as processed bird’s nest products, dried seafood, honey, rice-based confectionery and dried fruit products.

Speaking to the resident correspondent of Nhan Dan Newspaper in Cambodia, Nguyen Hong Diem, Director of Nong Phat Dat Company — which specialises in rice-based products — said the company’s products had received positive initial feedback from Cambodian consumers. She expressed her hope for receiving more support from An Giang authorities, the Khmer–Viet Nam Association in Cambodia and the Khmer–Viet Nam Business Association in accessing more updated market information to better seize investment opportunities in Cambodia.

Meanwhile, Pham Quy Hung, Chief Executive Officer of the GBi Enterprise Ecosystem, Greenmech Viet Nam, said he would support the Khmer–Viet Nam Business Association in building a digital ecosystem to more effectively promote and disseminate information about the association and business activities in Cambodia.
