On this day, under the chairmanship of leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, the conference on the unification of communist organisations decided to merge the Indochinese Communist Party, the An Nam Communist Party and the Indochinese Communist League into a single organisation named the Communist Party of Viet Nam. From its inception, with a correct revolutionary line, the Party brought together and led the entire people to rise up in struggle for independence and freedom, gradually building a life of prosperity and happiness.
Over 96 years under the leadership of the Party, our people have remained united as one, steadfastly overcoming countless hardships and challenges, achieving great victories: overthrowing colonial rule, repelling imperialist aggressors, safeguarding the integrity of the nation’s territory, successfully carrying out the renewal process, and building a prosperous, civilised and happy country. The living standards of the people have continuously improved, while Viet Nam’s prestige and standing on the international stage have been increasingly enhanced.
Throughout these journeys, the Party has always taken the people as its foundation, regarded the happiness of the people as its ultimate goal, relied on the people and maintained close bonds with them, harnessing the strength of the great national unity bloc to overcome all difficulties, turn challenges into opportunities, and achieve major accomplishments of historic significance.
Practice has proven that the leadership of the Party is the foremost factor determining every victory. From the very beginning, the Party possessed a correct and creative political line, well suited to the context of the Vietnamese revolution.
Through arduous revolutionary struggles, difficult periods of national construction, and in the face of unpredictable geopolitical and global economic fluctuations, the Party has been tempered and matured, continuously renewing itself to strengthen its fighting capacity in all circumstances, worthy of its mission to lead the revolution and of the trust and support of the people. Steering the ship of the Vietnamese revolution steadily through storms and tempests, the Party’s prestige has continued to rise, and the people’s confidence in its leadership has been further consolidated.
Proud of our glorious Party, we express our boundless gratitude for the immense contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, the great teacher of the Vietnamese revolution, who founded, led and trained our Party. We will forever remember the dedication and sacrifices of veteran leaders, heroes and martyrs, and outstanding people of the nation for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the people.
With the flame of tradition shining brightly, the entire Party, people and armed forces pledge to unite as one to firmly safeguard the fruits of the revolution, remain steadfast on the path of independence, self-reliance and self-strengthening, persist in advancing towards socialism, comprehensively accelerate the renewal process, and create new miracles in a new stage of development.
The 14th National Party Congress has recently concluded with great success. The Congress set out the goals for the 2026–2030 period: maintaining a peaceful and stable environment; achieving rapid and sustainable national development; comprehensively improving the people’s living standards; strengthening autonomy and self-reliance; making strong advances in a new era of the nation; successfully realising the goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and upper-middle income by 2030; attaining average annual growth of over 10%; and bringing into reality the vision of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045.
The Congress also adopted an action programme requiring the right choices, swift implementation, thorough execution and results-based measurement for every task.
The year 2026 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, a pivotal year for Party policies to take effect in real life and to lay a solid foundation for reaching future development milestones. Ministries, sectors, localities and units must urgently study and thoroughly grasp the Resolution, translate the action programme into projects and plans suited to the practical conditions of their respective fields and areas, and resolutely and methodically implement the Central Committee’s strategic resolutions, creating clear and fundamental changes as a basis for sustainable development.
Each cadre, Party member and citizen should strive to study, train, compete in labour and work, and resolutely turn resolutions into concrete actions and results, accelerating comprehensive breakthroughs across all fields. Each Party committee and organisation must continuously renew and rectify itself to become comprehensively clean and strong, enhance its fighting capacity, affirm its leadership role, and lead the masses in action with a spirit of proactiveness, innovative thinking and responsibility.
Celebrating the new spring, celebrating our glorious Party, and celebrating the nation’s entry into a new era of opportunity, the entire Party, people and armed forces, drawing on the strength of the great national unity bloc and the aspiration for development, join forces and stand united to successfully fulfil the set goals, lay firm foundations for the next stage, and realise the aspiration for a strong, prosperous, civilised and happy Viet Nam by the middle of the 21st century, standing shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the five continents, as our beloved Uncle Ho so fervently wished in his lifetime.
