The exhibition is jointly organised by the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association, the Guangxi Arts University of China, and the Guangxi Lijiang Painting School Promotion Association.
The Lijiang Painting School is one of the most distinctive regional schools of contemporary Chinese art. Drawing inspiration from the magnificent landscapes of Guangxi and the vitality of contemporary life, its artists have developed a unique artistic style deeply rooted in southern Chinese culture while expressing the harmonious relationship between humanity and nature.
The exhibition presents more than 90 artworks, including 19 works by members of the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association. Covering a wide range of themes and genres, including landscapes, flowers and birds, portraiture and everyday life, the works of the Lijiang Painting School vividly portray the natural beauty of southern China and the rhythm of contemporary society, while reflecting the diverse nature, culture and humanistic values of China and ASEAN countries.
Using the distinctive brush-and-ink language of traditional Chinese painting, the artists depict majestic landscapes, tranquil rural life, ethnic cultural identities and scenes from contemporary society. Each work conveys a profound appreciation of nature, celebrates life and expresses the aspiration for harmonious coexistence between humanity and the natural world.
The exhibited works reflect the unique aesthetic values of Chinese ink painting while embodying Guangxi's spirit of openness, inclusiveness and cultural coexistence. Visitors are offered an opportunity to experience shared artistic sensibilities, cultural exchange and the common values that emerge through dialogue and mutual learning between different artistic traditions.
According to the organisers, the exhibition is expected to serve as a bridge connecting the artistic communities of Viet Nam and China, fostering cooperation in preserving, inheriting and renewing the cultural values of both countries, while creating new opportunities for dialogue and exchange between civilisations.
The exhibition runs until June 29.
