Enhancing quality of thematic exhibitions at fine arts museums

As part of the exhibition “The Beauty of Hue’s Cultural Heritage through Sketch Art”, the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts, in collaboration with relevant units, held a seminar on August 7 entitled “Innovation and enhancement of thematic exhibition work at fine arts museums in Viet Nam”.

The event brought together four public fine arts museums: the Viet Nam Fine Arts Museum, the Hue Fine Arts Museum, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, and the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum.

According to Nguyen Thi Trinh, Acting Director of the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts, the seminar provided an opportunity for fine arts museums to share practical experiences and lessons learnt, present successful models and effective approaches, and jointly discuss and propose innovative orientations for organising thematic exhibitions.

In the context of the current dynamic integration and development of cultural and social life, Viet Nam’s museum system is making positive strides to better meet the needs of the public.

Presentations at the seminar addressed the current situation, opportunities and challenges, and proposed numerous practical solutions, offering promising new directions.

The discussions also put forward concrete proposals and recommendations to improve the quality of thematic exhibitions at fine arts museums in Viet Nam, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the museum sector in the new era and better meeting the needs of both domestic and international audiences.

As part of the programme, the Hue Fine Arts Museum and the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts jointly opened the thematic exhibition “The Beauty of Hue’s Cultural Heritage through Sketch Art”.

This is also a meaningful activity to mark the 80th anniversary of the National Day of Viet Nam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).

The exhibition showcases 150 sketches selected from the Hue Fine Arts Museum’s collection of nearly 1,500 sketches of Hue.
