The exhibits were selected from the more than 10,000 entries sent by 1,073 photographers from 32 countries and territories around the world.
Hosted by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA) and sponsored by the International Federation of Photographic Art (Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique, FIAP) and Image Without Frontier (Image sans Frontière - ISF), the contest aimed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese photography (March 15, 1953 – 2023).
The entries were submitted in four categories of colour freedom, monochrome freedom, children, and ideas.
The organising board presented 71 prizes to best entries, including four gold medals. Vietnamese photographers won 45 prizes at the event, including the four golds.
‘All around music’ by André Boto from Spain won the gold medal in the colour freedom category. |

‘Perspective’, a photo by Arlen Keshishian from Iran, was awarded the ISF’s gold medal in the idea category. |
The photo entitled ‘Life-time attachment’ by Dang Ke Duc from Vietnam was named the VAPA’s gold prize winner in the monochrome freedom category. |
The ISF’s gold prize winner in the monochrome freedom category went to the photo entitled ‘Foggy dawn’ by Ma Yaping from China. |
The photo entitled ‘Children and the spring’ by Le Thanh Son from Vietnam earned the VAPA’s gold medal in the children category. |
‘Summer Day’, a photo by Nguyen Thi Van from Vietnam, bagged the FIAP’s gold medal in the children category. |
