Exhibition opens in Hanoi to celebrate new spring

An exhibition entitled ‘Greeting the Spring of the Year of the Rat 2020’ opened in Hanoi on January 31.

The exhibition introduces to visitors 70 artworks by 30 artists including artists who are working at the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition, and the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum.

Utilising assorted materials including wood, silk, lacquer and ‘do’ (Poonah) paper, the works on display are presented in various forms of including paintings, graphic arts, sculptures and photography.

They reflect the beauty of natural landscapes, the life and people of Vietnam as well as the fresh and vibrant atmosphere that the new spring has to offer, thus conveying the artists’ trust and expectations of the country’s development.

Prominent among the exhibits are ‘Don Mua Xuan Moi’ (Greet New Spring) by Tran Thi Thu Dong, ‘Nong Thon’ (Rural Area) by Vi Kien Thanh, ‘Em Be Cham’ (A Cham ethnic Child) by Vu Thi Hang, and ‘Suong Ha Long’ (Ha Long in Fog) by Le Van Hai.

The exhibition, co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and tourism, and the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum, will last until February 2 at 29 Hang Bai street, Hoan Kiem district.
