The book, bilingual in Vietnamese and English with more than 140 pages, features a special artistic experience programme linked to the script of the play “The Legend of Youth”, including articles, thoughts, and impressions about the play from audiences both at home and abroad.

The book serves as a heroic epic of the resistance against the US, telling the story of the final days of the ten female martyrs on the battlefield of Dong Loc Junction in Ha Tinh Province.

Author and Director Le Quy Duong shared: “Our generation was born in 1968, a year marked by much bloodshed for our nation, including the sacrifices of the ten heroic female martyrs at Dong Loc Junction. ‘The Legend of Youth’ is our tribute and gratitude to them.”

One year after its debut (October 2023), the play “The Legend of Youth” attracted over 3,000 domestic and international viewers to the Vietnamese Women’s Museum stage. The play has become one of Hanoi’s 15 most attractive nighttime tourist offerings.

The story of ten young heroic martyrs of Vietnam moved artists from Bangladesh in early 2024, adapted into a live stage performance at Dhaka National University, introducing it to local youth and the public.
