The film, directed by Dao Ba Son, also won the awards for Best Scriptwriter and Best Set Designer.
‘Long Thanh Cam Gia Ca’ was up against ‘Khat Vong Thang Long’ (Thang Long’s Aspiration), ‘Vuot Qua Ben Thuong Hai’ (Across Shanghai) and ‘Canh Dong Bat Tan’ (Endless Field) for this year’s best feature film award.
The feature film category saw another major victory by ‘Canh Dong Bat Tan’ (Endless Field), which earned the Journalists’ prize and brought Lan Ngoc the title of Best Leading Actress and songwriter Quoc Trung the award for Best Musician.
Best Cameraman went to Hoang Dung for the film ‘Vu Dieu Dam Me’ (Passionate Dance).
Director Luu Trong Ninh won the award for Best Director and young artist Vu Dinh Toan was honoured as Best Actor for their work in ‘Khat Vong Thang Long’ (Thang Long’s Aspiration).
Le Cung Bac and Huynh Dong was named Best Director and Best Leading Actor in the video film category for the film ‘Vo Ngua Troi Nam’ (The Southern Gallop).
‘Bi Thu Tinh Uy’ (Provincial Party Committee Secretary) bagged the Best Video Film award as well as the Best Actress for artist Minh Chau and Best Scriptwriter for writer Van Thao.
‘Nguoi Con Cua Rong’ (Dragon’s Son) seized a double victory with the Best Cartoon and Best Director in the animated film category.
The Best Scientific Film prize went to ‘Mua Sinh No Bien’ (Breeding Season of the Sea). No prize was given in the cinematography research category this year.
The ceremony also honoured the late film directors – People’s Artists Nguyen Van Thong, Tran Vu and Nguyen Ngoc Quynh for their contributions to the development of the country’s revolutionary cinematography.
The national Golden Kite Awards is held annually by the Vietnam Cinematography Association to honour the best cinematographic works and artists of the year. This year’s event was held two days before Vietnam Cinematography Day (March 15) and attracted more than 100 entries from both State-owned and private film studios.
