93 years ago, during a conference held on February 3, 1930, under the chair of President Ho Chi Minh, three communist organisations in Vietnam, namely the Indochinese Communist Party, the Communist Party of Annam, and the Indochinese Communist League, were united into a single communist party – the Communist Party of Vietnam. The formation of the Communist Party of Vietnam was an important milestone marking a great historical turning point in Vietnam’s revolution.
Before the Communist Party of Vietnam was born, our country had been drowned in a long night of slavery. Many patriotic movements had been made by people from all walks of life, but they all ended up in failure due to the lack of sound guidance. In this context, President Ho Chi Minh, under the name Nguyen Ai Quoc, travelled around the world to find a means to save the country. He discovered Marxism-Leninism to be a sound way to save and liberate his nation.
Since its establishment, the Party has developed a blood bond with the people and has won absolute trust and support from the people. The Party led the national liberation struggle and led our people to achieve the glorious victory of the August Revolution in 1945, marking the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the first State of workers and peasants in Southeast Asia.
Despite numerous difficulties and challenges, our Party has led our people to gain brilliant historical milestones by successfully winning the two resistance wars against French colonialists and US imperialists, uniting the whole country and putting it on the path to socialism.
The reality of the past 93 years has shown that the Communist Party of Vietnam is always deserving of its role as the vanguard of the working class, the working people, and the whole nation. The sound and clear-sighted leadership of the Party has been the decisive factor in every victory of the Vietnamese revolution. During the process, the Party has been renovating itself to become truly and comprehensively pure.
Taking pride in the glorious Party, we pay gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh – the founder, leader and trainer of our Party. We also remember the dedication and sacrifice of generations of cadres, Party members, compatriots and comrades who devoted themselves to the goals and ideals of the Party and the longevity of the nation.
2023 is the pivotal year for the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for the 2021-2025 period. The entire Party, people and army are exerting efforts to fulfil the socio-economic development goals at the highest level towards macroeconomic stability while also focusing on removing difficulties for production and business activities.
It is necessary to continue to develop the fields of culture, education-training, science-technology; protect the environment, ensure social security and welfare, and improve people's lives; strengthen the building and rectification of the Party and build a law-governed socialist State and a truly pure and strong political system; be more persistent and drastic in the fight against corruption and negative phenomena in order to maintain faith within the Party and the people; and promote administrative reform and judicial reform.
In celebration of the Party’s founding anniversary and the new spring, we proudly and firmly step forward under the glorious banner of the Party, promote the obtained achievements, strongly arouse the will and creativity of the whole people, continue to achieve greater victories in many fields, advance rapidly on the path of renewal and development, for the goal of building a society of wealthy people, a strong country, democracy, justice, and civilisation.
