First Coral New Literary Works Award launched

San Ho (Coral) Books in collaboration with Hong Ha Stationery Joint Stock Company and Zzz Review officially announced the organisation of the first Coral New Literary Works Award 2024 on February 26.

The organising board's award hopes to find new writers in all three fields of novels, long stories, and short stories, with unique perspectives honouring the creativity of Vietnamese authors.

The organising committee will receive manuscripts until August 8, 2024.

Sharing about this award, Kim Tran, President of San Ho Books, said: "The competition will be a playground for participations to show off their skills and receive the recognition they deserve."

According to the organising board, participants in the contest are professional and amateur writers, Vietnamese citizens, living, working, and studying at home and abroad. For the novel genre, the number of participating works is unlimited, at over 30,000 words long, while long stories have a capacity of 18,000-30,000 words, and short story collections must have at least 7 stories.

For novels and long stories, the manuscript must have never been published in any form before entering the competition. For short story collections, there are at least three new stories that have never been published.

Each author can submit one or more works. The author must be fully responsible for the copyright of the submitted work.

The contest will award one First Prize, one Second Prize, one Third Prize, and three Consolation Prizes, with a total prize value of 75 million VND. In addition, after undergoing evaluation, the works that win first, second, and third prizes will be cooperatively published by San Ho Books.
