Hanoi Open Stage Festival features special performances

The 2024 Hanoi Open Stage Festival, co-organised by the Vietnam Stage Artists Association and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, has just opened at the Workers' Theatre in Hanoi.

The festival is a large-scale cultural and artistic activity on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the capital city's Liberation Day.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, President of the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists, affirmed that Hanoi, the capital of a thousand years of civilisation, has always been the pride of the whole country, especially the people of Hanoi.

The heroic spirit and intelligence of Thang Long, the bravery and unique gallantry and elegance of Hanoi have always been a strong source of inspiration for literature and art.

Speaking at the festival, Pham Xuan Tai, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said: “Over the years, Hanoi has always paid attention to investing and creating mechanisms for artists to freely create. Hanoi has been and is a typical bright spot in the national theatre industry, with many outstanding and unique works serving all classes of people.”

Entering its 6th season, the festival has gradually become a brand of Hanoi. The 2024 Hanoi Open Stage Festival has attracted the participation of 12 art units, bringing 12 outstanding works to the stage.

Directly after the opening ceremony, artists from the Hanoi Drama Theatre opened the festival with the play "Khoang Trong". The remaining plays will be performed at the Workers Theatre, Dai Nam Theatre, and other theatres in Hanoi.

The 2024 Hanoi Open Stage Festival will close on the evening of November 9 at Dai Nam Theatre, Hanoi.
