Speaking at the ceremony, People’s Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, President of the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists, emphasised that August 12 (lunar calendar) is the day that theatre artists express their gratitude to theatre’s ancestors, who overcame all social prejudices, to create unique and valuable forms of theatre art, enriching Vietnamese cultural identity. This is also an opportunity to give thanks to the audience for accompanying artists in preserving and promoting traditional Vietnamese theatre art.

“The celebration of the 14th Vietnam Stage Day is a chance for theatre artists to pay tribute to their ancestors, as well as sharing professional experiences and creating new quality theatrical works to serve the people, contributing to the development of Vietnamese theatre in the new period of national industrialisation and modernisation and fulfilling artist’s mission to the country and people”, Trinh Thuy Mui noted.

At the event, the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists presented gifts to senior artists and artists who won the Ho Chi Minh Awards and the State Awards for Literature and Arts.
