The annual awards recognise literary works of artistic and ideological merit, while acknowledging the positive contributions of authors and translators to national literature.

In 2025, nine winners were named across the categories of prose, poetry, criticism, translation, children’s literature, and young authors.

Writer Le Thanh Ky won the prose category for his novel ‘Mien Dat Hua’ (Promising Land). Two poetry collections—by poet Hoang Thi Quynh Anh and Tran Thi Thanh, both published by the Writers’ Association Publishing House—were awarded in the poetry category.

Tran Van Toan was named winner in the literary theory and criticism category for his work ‘Van Hoc Nhu Mot Dien Ngon’ (Literature as a Discourse).

In the translation category, Nguyen Do An Nhien was recognised for her translation of ‘White Crane, Unfolding’ by Japanese writer Tawada Yoko, while Nguyen Thien Nga received the award for her translation of ‘Song of Solomon’ by American writer Toni Morrison.

The novel ‘Mien Thao Nguyen Panduranga’ (The Land of Pandurang) by writer Le Duc Duong won the children’s literature award.

The Young Author Prize was awarded to Nguyen Thi Kim Nhung and Cao Viet Quynh.

According to the Viet Nam Writers’ Association, this year’s winning works demonstrate diversity in themes, styles, and artistic approaches. Many reflect innovation in creative expression while addressing contemporary social and human issues.
