The three gold medals went to the teams from the Military Drama Theatre, the Hanoi State Association, and the Hanoi Cheo (Traditional Opera) Theatre.
In addition, 26 gold medals and 33 silver medals were presented to the best actors and actresses of the festival. There were also individual awards to honour the best director, best scriptwriter, best choreographer, best stage designer, and four best instrumentalists.
The festival, which was jointly held by the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists (VASA) and the Hanoi Municipal Department of Culture and Sports, gathered the participation of more than 200 artists from 13 art troupes.
They brought 13 entries to the stage in assorted forms of drama, ‘cheo’ (Vietnamese traditional opera), ‘cai luong’ (reformed opera), and circus acts.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, VASA Chairwoman, People’s Artist Trinh Thuy Mui highly appreciated the participating artists’ creativity and dedication in providing audience with plays with high aesthetic value and quality.
She stressed that the enthusiastic participation of the artists and positive response of the audience at the event have proven the vitality of Vietnamese stage art in today’s life.
