Journalist Vuong Minh Hue - Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Ha Noi Magazine and head of the Organising Committee of the Contest shared: The second 'Hanoi and I' Writing Contest contributes to honouring and spreading the traditional cultural values of Thang Long - Hanoi and the elegant and civilised character of Hanoians, thereby arousing love and responsibility in every Hanoian as well as people across the country towards the thousand-year-old Capital.
The contest is open to professional and non-professional authors, Vietnamese citizens or foreigners of all ages.
The entries are memories and reminiscences associated with real stories about the villages and streets of Hanoi past and present, from historical traditions, natural landscapes, cultural heritage, customs, crafts, folk performances, cuisine to lifestyle, communication and behaviour, expressing the emotions and feelings of the contestants about the core values of the land and people of Hanoi.
In addition, there are stories reflecting the pace of life, the transformation of Hanoi, the city's growth in the process of integration and development, especially in the development of the cultural industry, expressing the ideas and initiatives of the authors, contributing to realising the aspiration of building a cultural - civilised - modern capital.

The entries are essays, notes and reports and are new works not yet published in the mass media, on social networks or in any publications.
Each author can submit multiple entries. Entries must not exceed 3,000 words and are encouraged to include illustrative photos.
Entries should be sent to the editorial office: 'Nguoi Ha Noi' Magazine, 126 Nam Cao, Giang Vo Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi City or via email: hanoivatoi@gmail.com, with the title clearly stating: Works participating in the 2nd 'Hanoi and I' Writing Contest.
The Organising Committee will receive entries until August 30, 2026. The closing and award ceremony is expected to be held on the 72nd anniversary of the Capital's Liberation Day, October 10, 2026.
The award structure includes one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, and four consolation prizes.
In addition, the Organising Committee will also award additional prizes to the works with the highest number of views in the quarter and the year. Works participating in the contest meeting the requirements of the rules will be published in Nguoi Ha Noi e-Magazine.
