Vietnamese ethnic village launches activities for New Year

Activities to welcome the New Year 2025, with rituals, festivals, and customs, will take place this December at the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village in Hanoi.

The highlight activity of “Welcome New Year 2025” includes reenacting the Nao Pe Chau festival of the Mong people in Dien Bien Province, folk song and dance programmes “Mong Village welcomes Tet” and “Joyful New Year”, introducing “Regional Cuisines - Welcome New Year 2025”.

The activities take place from December 31, 2024, to January 1, 2025, with 50 booths introducing traditional cuisine and highland products.

In addition, there is a space displaying paintings “Colours of the Market”, introducing a collection of photos about the beauty of the land and people of the mountainous districts of Thanh Hoa and some images of the cultural space organised at the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village.

Many unique cultural activities are also introduced by ethnic groups on this occasion, such as the Khen dance performance of the Mong people, Thanh Hoa Province; folk songs and dances of the ethnic community; as well as some unique festivals and customs of the Mong, Dao, Thai ethnic groups in Thanh Hoa Province.

Also, with the highlight programmes in the Village throughout December, there are many activities to perform, introduce and experience the culture, customs, cuisine, folk games, crafts, exchanges, folk songs and dances of the ethnic groups.
