First-ever Ca Mau Shrimp Festival promises exciting events

The southern province of Ca Mau has decided to organise the first-ever Shrimp Festival at the end of 2023, with a series of events on trade, investment and tourism promotion, in addition to other cultural and entertainment activities.

According to the People’s Committee of Ca Mau Province, the Ca Mau Shrimp Festival and the OCOP Mekong Delta Forum 2023, will officially take place in Ca Mau City, from December 13 to 16.

The regional scale event themed “Enhancing Vietnamese shrimp - Developing OCOP products” includes 14 main activities, such as exhibitions, conferences and seminars on shrimp industry development.

The opening ceremony will be held at the Central Square of Ca Mau Province on the evening of December 13, with stage performances on the characteristics, land and people of Ca Mau in particular and the Mekong Delta in general. Before the opening ceremony, a street parade will take place to honour local products.

During the festival, an exhibition of 400 booths on the shrimp industry and OCOP products will be held at the Central Square of Ca Mau Province.

In particular, a Ca Mau Seafood Cuisine Festival will include the Shrimp Festival combined with a cooking contest on shrimp dishes.

Visitors will also have a chance to experience community tours associated with the province’s typical ecological areas, such as Ca Mau Cape National Park, U Minh Ha National Park, shrimp farming facilities, OCOP production facilities, coastal craft villages, and others.
