The event will feature around 100 booths by Ao Dai designers, traditional craft villages, and tourism companies in Hanoi.

A photo exhibition highlighting the images of Ao Dai in the past and present, an Ao Dai fashion show, art performances, and an Ao Dai design contest, will be held within the framework of the festival.

The festival highlight will be a carnival on October 5, with people dressed in Ao Dai walking through the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Centre, along Hoang Dieu, Hoang Van Thu, and Doc Lap streets, and the Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

The opening ceremony will be organised at Doan Mon Square on October 4, with an art programme entitled ‘The Essence of Ao Dai’.

The festival is among activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2024). It aims to stimulate Hanoi’s tourism while honouring the traditional Vietnamese dress and the capital’s heritage.
