Book series released to mark 80th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day

The People’s Army Publishing House has released a book series comprising 30 works to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

The book series features valuable works on history, political theory, and military affairs such as "August Revolution" by Truong Chinh, "Arming the revolutionary masses to build the People's Army" by General Vo Nguyen Giap, "Two prison breaks" - memoirs by Tran Dang Ninh, "The path following Uncle Ho" by Hoang Quoc Viet.

In addition, works by researchers, journalists, and photographers such as Colonel–journalist Ho Quang Loi, Colonel–journalist Phan Tung Son, Colonel–journalist Ho Quang Phuong, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Tho, Nguyen Ba Khoan, and Dieu An offer valuable documents, images, and lessons on the power of national unity under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh in the early days when the Revolution had just succeeded, the young government of the people had just been established in the face of countless difficulties.

Particularly, many outstanding literary works books such as “Dialogue in the night”, a novel by Major General and writer Nguyen Chi Trung, “Lom”, a novel by writer Son Tung and some others.

Apart from the publication of these valuable works, the People’s Army Publishing House has also organised a writing camp at the Nha Trang Creative House, focusing on the theme of the armed forces and revolutionary war to commemorate the great national holiday. Fifteen outstanding writers and poets participated in the camp with the spirit of soldiers on the front line, working creatively and diligently to produce impressive novels and epic poems of high content, ideological and artistic quality such as “The Curse of Phu La Nhich” – a novel by writer An Binh Minh, “Regiment Mother” – a novel by writer Nguyen Minh Ngoc, “From Truong Son to Truong Sa”- an epic by poet Nguyen Viet Chien and so on.

Colonel and writer Pham Van Truong, Director and Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Publishing House, affirmed that upholding the 75-year tradition of serving the military with a steadfast political stance, innovative thinking and strong determination to transform, the People's Army Publishing House will continue to affirm its role as a pioneering force on the ideological and theoretical front; constantly improving its quality, modernising its operations, meeting the increasingly high requirements of the situation and tasks; maintaining its position as one of the intellectual fulcrums, "cultural citadels" in the era of national rising.
