Co-chairing the conference were PCC members: Le Van Loi, President of the Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences; and Le Ngoc Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee and Head of the Da Nang National Assembly delegation. The event was also attended by leaders of central-level Party committees, ministries, and sectors; leaders of localities, and representatives of the family of Huynh Thuc Khang, as well as experts, researchers, and scientists.
The conference was jointly organised by the PCC’s Commission for Publicity, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences, and the Da Nang Party Committee, with the aim of clarifying and affirming Huynh Thuc Khang’s great contributions to the cause of national liberation and the construction and defence of the Fatherland, while further highlighting the value of his ideology, moral character, and spirit of service to the people.
At the conference, the Ministry of Science and Technology, in coordination with the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Publicity, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences, and the Da Nang Party Committee, held a ceremony to issue a commemorative postage stamp set marking the 150th birth anniversary of Huynh Thuc Khang (October 1, 1876–October 1, 2026).
The papers presented at the conference respectfully recalled and provided in-depth analyses of Huynh Thuc Khang’s life, career, and great contributions to the nation. Based on authentic historical sources, the papers highlighted his political mettle, noble character, and spirit of great national unity, while drawing valuable lessons of contemporary relevance for personnel work and the promotion of the role of intellectuals today.
Addressing the conference, Politburo member, Secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Publicity Trinh Van Quyet stressed that throughout his more than 70 years of life, Huynh Thuc Khang consistently thought and acted according to one guiding principle: everything for the people, studying for the people, writing for the people, enduring imprisonment for the people, and shouldering the affairs of the country for the people.
Emphasising the need for practical solutions to preserve, promote, and spread the legacy of Huynh Thuc Khang across society, Politburo member Trinh Van Quyet asked the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences to continue collecting and mutilising relevant materials, and to soon edit and publish the conference proceedings.
