The event was organised by the Dong Thap Provincial Women’s Association within the framework of the ongoing Lotus Festival 2024.

It is also among the activities being held across Dong Thap Province to commemorate the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890-2024) and the 55th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament.

The parade started from the relic site worshipping Nguyen Sinh Sac — President Ho Chi Minh’s father — in Ward 4, Cao Lanh City.

Taking place from May 19 to 21, the Lotus Festival features various activities, such as the Mekong Delta - Dong Thap trade fair in 2024, a fashion contest, a lotus-based dish cooking competition, a photo exhibition, and a trekking tour to Tram Chim National Park.
