Hanoi welcomes 7.3 million tourists in first quarter of 2025

On March 25, the Hanoi Department of Tourism revealed that the capital city received around 7.3 million visitors in the first three months of 2025, an 8.7% increase year-on-year.

International tourists were estimated at 1.85 million, up 17.4% against the same period in 2024. Total tourism revenue reached 29.93 trillion VND, up 11.3% year-on-year.

In the first quarter of 2025, Hanoi's tourism sector organised significant events, particularly during the 2025 New Year and Lunar New Year celebrations.

The Hanoi Department of Tourism initiated numerous initiatives aimed at developing new tourism products and enhancing inter-regional connectivity, including the survey and conference on connecting Red River Tourism Routes with Hanoi travel enterprises, the launch of a tour to Quang Phu Cau craft villages, the introduction of floral tourism initiatives, the launch of environmental protection event to promote sustainable tourism at the Ancient Duong Lam Village in Son Tay Town, and the Get on Hanoi programme 2025.

To achieve its ambitious goal of welcoming 31 million tourists in 2025, Hanoi plans to introduce innovative tourism products while revitalising traditional tourism offerings.

The city will launch heritage and relic-based experiential tourism at the Ha Mo tourist site (Dan Phuong District), the heritage route in Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin, and Phu Xuyen districts, community-based tourism models in An Phu Commune (My Duc District) and rural agricultural tourism models in Tich Giang Commune (Phuc Tho District).
