The city won the titles of Asia’s Leading Business Travel Destination 2026, Asia’s Leading Festival & Event Destination 2026, and Asia’s Leading City Tourist Board 2026, awarded to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism.
The latest honours add to the city’s growing record at international tourism awards. Previously, Ho Chi Minh City won four titles at the 2025 World Travel Awards, including Asia’s Leading Business Travel Destination and Asia’s Leading Festival & Event Destination for the fourth consecutive year, from 2022 to 2025, while its tourism authority received the Asia’s Leading City Tourist Board title for the third consecutive year, from 2023 to 2025.
Ho Chi Minh City has also been recognised by the World MICE Awards as Asia’s Leading MICE Destination for six consecutive years (2020–2025), Asia’s Leading Incentive Destination in 2024, and the Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC) as Asia’s Best Trade Show for two consecutive years (2024–2025).
The results highlight Ho Chi Minh City’s growing competitiveness in business travel, MICE, festivals, and events, supported by investment in infrastructure, improved destination quality, diversified tourism products, and stronger international promotion.
As a major centre for the economy, trade, innovation, and international connectivity, the city is developing an ecosystem for business and event tourism covering transport infrastructure, convention and exhibition centres, and accommodation, as well as cultural, culinary, entertainment, and experiential offerings.
The city is also expanding its tourism space from the urban centre to rivers, coastal and island areas, and ecological destinations, creating more options for visitors and event organisers.
The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, recognises outstanding destinations, organisations, and businesses in the global travel and tourism industry. According to the city’s WTA 2026 profile, the awards are decided through an international voting process involving tourism professionals, businesses, and travellers.
