The Expo has 250 displays featuring machinery, associated equipment and a wide variety of technologies used in a broad range of fields from textiles and garments, mining, construction, energy, and packaging, to the rubber, plastics, wood and paper processing industries.
During the event, there will be a number of seminars on the steel industry, pharmaceutical products and chemicals used in agriculture, along with several smaller displays.
Nguyen Van Ngan, Director General of Vietfair, said visitors will have the chance to access advanced machinery and facilities both at home and abroad, adding that a lot of contracts are expected to be agreed upon during the event.
Businesses participating in the Expo will visit industrial parks and export processing zones in Ho Chi Minh City to survey and seek co-operative opportunities in areas such as textile and garment manufacturing, mechanics, and steel production.
The Expo has been jointly organised by the Vietnam Advertising and Fairs Exhibition Company (Vietfair) and various domestic and foreign organisations, and will run through December 11.
