It is held to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day and the 79th anniversary of the traditional day of the People’s Public Security Force.
The tournament offers an opportunity for volleyball teams to enhance their skills to compete in bigger events in the future.
This year’s tournament features eight teams, seven in southern Vietnam and one from Cambodia, Visakha Club.
The competition takes place from August 12-18 and free entry is given to all games.
On the opening day, Vinh Long beat Tra Vinh 3-0, while Long An defeated Cambodia’s Visakha 3-1.
The hosts Ho Chi Minh City Public Security Team also clinched an easy 3-0 win over Ben Tre.
