This year’s festival brought together 96 travel and cuisine businesses and service providers from 50 cities and provinces, who offered visitors with various promotions on domestic routes in response to the “Vietnamese people travel Vietnam” programme.

A food festival and a pavilion showcasing tourist products of Ho Chi Minh City and 18 Mekong Delta and south-eastern provinces were also held under the framework of the four-day event.

According to Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Deputy Director of the municipal Tourism Department, the participating enterprises enjoyed discounts of up to 70% on fees and charges for registration to the festival due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on their operations.

More than 9,300 transactions were successfully made during the festival, most of them were payment for tours to the Northwest, Northeast, Central, Mekong delta, and Southeast regions.

Total sales at the festival were estimated at VND40 billion (US$1.72 million).
